President-Elect: The President-Elect shall exercise such authority as may be delegated by the President. The President-Elect also serves as the Chair of the Membership Advisory Group. The term of Office of the President-Elect is two (2) years and is coincident with that of the President. Position dates: January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2026
Vice President of Education: The Vice President of Education ensures that the Society develops and maintains positive and productive relationships with academic institutions, laboratories (both public and private), and research institutes. The position enhances communications and membership with universities and university-affiliated professionals and seeks out opportunities to engage with educators, to expand core MTS educational programs (e.g., student scholarships, summer workshops, microcredentials), and to develop and retain Student Sections. In the absence of a committee Chair, this position serves as lead to the MTS Education Committee; it also oversees a portfolio of MTS Technical Committees. Position dates: January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2028
Vice President of Government and Public Affairs: The Vice President of Government and Public Affairs pursues opportunities for the Society to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with news media, governmental entities, military services, and other relevant organizations with an interest in marine affairs, technology, and innovation. This position also oversees policy and reviews public releases by Society officers and spokespersons on behalf of MTS as related to government and public affairs. This position works with contractors and volunteers as assigned to engage with legislators on behalf of MTS interests, positioning MTS members as thought leaders and industry experts. This position oversees a portfolio of MTS Technical Committees. Position dates: January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2028
Vice President of Research, Industry, and Technology: The Vice President of Research, Industry & Technology guides the technical and external affairs of the Society and is responsible for all Professional Committee activities of the Society. Position dates: January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026
Vice President of Section Affairs: The Vice President of Sections Affairs is responsible for the activities of all Society sections. Position dates: January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2027
Vice President of Budget and Finance: The Vice President of Budget and Finance is responsible for the oversight of Society funds. Position dates: January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2027
Vice President of Publications and Communications: The Vice President of Publications and Communications is responsible for the publications of the Society and serves as the head of the editorial advisory board. Position dates: January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2026
Vice President of Early Career Ocean Professionals: The Vice President of Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP) is responsible for the oversight of the ECOP Section, supporting opportunities for ECOPs within the Society, and representing the interests of ECOPs within the marine technology sector. Position dates: January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2026
