At the MTS State of Society and Awards Presentation at OCEANS 2021 San Diego-Porto, MTS announced its scholarship recipients for 2021. We are honored to present the following scholarships to students in marine technology:

•Bussman Undergraduate: $2,500 – Shelby Gibson, UC Berkley
•Bussman Graduate: $2,500 - Elizabeth Slick, San Francisco State University
•Two Year Technical College: $3,000 – Tyler Smith, North Western Michigan College
•The Paros-Digiquartz Scholarship: $2,000 – Marine Lebrec, Marine Moss Laboratories/San Jose State University
•John C. Bajus: $1,000 – Mitchelle Agonsi, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth
•MTS Undergraduate Student: $3,000 - Gabriel Allen, Webb Institute

Did you know that MTS hosts student sections at more than 30 colleges worldwide? MTS student sections benefit from programs such as job fairs, hands-on learning, beach cleanups, education, and outreach programs, as well as networking with other students and sections and technical committees.

MTS President Zdenka Willis at the State of Society said, "We are excited that we were able to bring back the MTS Summer Camps. This year Rutgers held an HF Radar and Glider summer camp. We strive to keep our student members engaged, and it is our goal to help students bridge the gap between student membership and professional membership by engaging them early with our ECOP members and ECOP Section."
