Webinar: Monsters, Myths and Facts in Deep Sea MiningDeep Sea Mining is a growing yet contentious industry, which has prompted a wide variety of heated debates.
Proponents of deep sea mining point to the opportunity to harvest many of the critical metals required for the green transition via a low cost and low impact means, whilst critics point to the relative lack of understanding of the deep sea ecosystem and the crucial role of the oceans as carbon-sink.
Despite significant research and public debate, the topic is poorly understood by the general public (and even policy makers), with myths and misinformation running rife.
In this webinar, Phillip Gales will talk about the challenges of communicating facts and understanding to ensure an informed debate on this critical matter.
