With nine years in the ocean sciences non-profit sector, Abbey Wakely brings her extensive experience to her role as MTS’s Manager, Programs and Community Engagement. Tasked with cultivating relationships among MTS section and committee leadership, Abbey will oversee the expansion of member-driven initiatives and is committed to creating impactful community and student engagement. 

Before joining MTS, Abbey held the position of Director of Communications at the Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association. In this capacity, she fostered collaboration across various programs and crafted engaging content that resonated with members and stakeholders. Abbey's passion for ocean sciences, combined with her strong communication and program management skills, positions her as a valuable asset in driving MTS’s mission.
