We're gearing up for an incredible 2025 MATE ROV Competition World Championship next month in Alpena, Michigan! From exploring the Great Lakes to diving into maritime history at the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary, this year's event is shaping up to be unforgettable.

We're thrilled to announce that the 2026 MATE ROV Competition World Championship will take place June 25-27 at Memorial University in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada! Set along the rugged North Atlantic coast, our host, The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University is a hub for ocean research and innovation—making it the perfect partner and location for the competition's most northern championship yet. 

Teams, take note: While we usually keep things under wraps until the awards ceremony, we're making an exception this time—since 2026 is taking us international, we wanted to give you a heads-up early. Now's the perfect time to start thinking about passports, travel logistics, and shipping plans as part of your preparation.
